Craft and Draft was imagined in the back of an engineering classroom at the University of South Carolina by Andrew Johnson and Kellan Monroe. The two really wanted to start their own brewery, but in their younger days they knew they just weren’t ready to take that leap. After years of planning they set their sights on creating Columbia’s first craft beer bottle shop and bar. Opening in 2014 they aimed to bring Columbia all the best beers available focusing on local and rare brews coupled with great service in a friendly neighborhood atmosphere. Craft and Draft grew into a second location in 2020 with the Irmo store that includes a full restaurant. During that time one of the original bartenders, Katelyn Shire, became the manager and then moved up to be a part owner! Craft and Draft will always aim to be an inclusive, family friendly establishment where you can hang out and chat with great people about your favorite brews!
